IMPORTANT NOTICES & HELPFUL INFORMATION

If anyone in your household uses Rogaine or another hair-growth treatment, please check the ingredients. Minoxidil is highly toxic to cats and dogs and can be fatal, especially to cats.

A pet does not have to chew the bottle to be poisoned. Exposure can happen by licking treated hair or skin, contacting a spill or lying on a pillow with product residue and then grooming themselves. Even very small amounts can cause serious illness.

To help protect your pets:

• Apply the product in a closed room away from animals.

• Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards and clean up any spills immediately.

• Prevent pets from touching or licking treated areas and keep them away from bedding or clothing carrying residue.

• Store products securely and dispose of used tissues, applicators and containers in a bin pets cannot access.

If you suspect exposure, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic immediately. Do not wait for symptoms.

Possible signs include vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness and difficulty breathing. Do not induce vomiting unless a veterinary professional instructs you to.

Pet Poison Helpline: 855-764-7661, available 24 hours a day. This is an American number and a consultation fee of $89.00 US applies.  If in doubt and your local veterinarian is not open, perhaps the best thing to do is to go to a walk-in emergency veterinarian in your area.
